July 10th, 2011... At the tender age of 17 months, our precious litttle Suzette wins an All-Breed Best In Show under judge Deb Graffman!!! Thank you Lucie and Sylvain for expert handling and taking such good care of Suzette!! This wins propelled Suzette at the number 7th best whippet in Canada (as of July 2011). Suzette is loved/owned/bred/handled by Sylvain Deschamps, Dr Lucie Paradis, DVM & Joanne Boudreault.

Spring has been quiet for us.

Our Gabby (Ch. Forgetmenot Gabrielle's Beauty) is now in the USA with Shelley Kruger (Fanfare whippets) where she will be shown this summer to finish her American championship title. Two weeks ago she won 2 points. Thank you Shelley for the great care!

Otherwise for us, not too many dog shows, except one, last weekend June 12-13, where our 2 co-bred Henry X Gaia daughters (Ch. Talk of the Nation de Sud X Ch. Forgetmenot Glamore), were shown at a Canadian whippet specialty, where:
a) Jetstream Butterscoth Ripple won BOB from the 6-9 months old class (entry of 42 whippets, including top US special)! That was an very exciting win;
b) her sister Jetstream Forgetmenot Tigerpaw won the next day RWB from the bred-by class in strong competition, this was also a hound specialty (see our dog page to see pictures of this girl).

Both girls have ads on Ewhippetzine if you want to see them.

Yesterday we took a walk with our old 12 years old Juliette and her 3 triple-trouble 4.5 months old great grand-kids. As you can see she has her hands (paws) full!!! (she is the second one from the right)

The weather is finally a lot nicer here in Canada so I decided to go see the 2 girls that Lorraine Burch and I kept from the Henry X Gaia litter. (Henry being the beautiful Ch. Talk of The Nation de Sud and Gaia being Ch. Forgetmenot Glamore)... Last time I saw the 2 girls, they were 3 months old and it was the winter so I could only see them in the house. So I was very happy to finally be able to go see them today. My god, I wasn't disappointed! What beautys they are! Both of them striking, different, both soooo striking. I can predict and mark my words here, that both these girls will have a "shiny" future!!

News on the Fergus kids (out of Spellbound American Endeavour)

Well we finally made our mind, the Dark face boy was placed in a lovely pet home and Light face boy, now called "Angus" is definitely too small for US/Canada show ring. We are offering him for sale to a show home in Europe/ Scandinavia / etc. as it would be a shame to put him in a pet home as he is such a striking & promising young boy. His pedigree would make a great addition to any European bloodlines... Anyway, hopefully he will be a lucky boy! Saturday we went to Michigan and decided to bring back those 2 boys' litter sister. She has the right outline to bring me a step closer to this elusive ideal in my head... I decided to call this little girl "Agathe" (pronounce Agat) a nice French name that represents well her extreme "cuteness" factor. Her registered name will be Spellbound's Forget Me Not :-) She will stay here, as a forever home.

Fergus spends the weekend in Calgary!

What a life, our Fergus (Ch.Joska Forgetmenot Idealist) was sent for the weekend to Dreamwindz Kennel in Calgary, Alberta (3400 km from here) to be bred to the beautiful "Lola" ( Can Ch. Shannon Down Angel Eyes V Lifelong JC, CR, OTR).
Watch for those puppies on the Dreamwindz web site! Lola and Fergus are pictured below.

Today, February 10, 2010, Luciole gave birth to 8 healthy puppies!
Luciole is Ch.Forgetmenot Famously.
The proud sire is our young Salem: Forgetmenot Kurume.
This is an interesting mix of "Plumcreek Come Fly With Me" (Luciole sire) and Sportingfield Hot Topic (Salem sire). This is also our first linebred on our beautiful Juliette (Ch. Be The One at Forgetmenot, who is on the dam side of both parents). This is also the first time we use one of our males to sire a litter....
Lots of "first"!!! So lots of HOPE!! ;-)

There are 4 boys and 4 girls.

One all black like daddy (a male).
Two parti black & white (a male and a female).
Two irish marked brindle and white (a male and a female)..
The rest are brindle and white partis.

Our Gabby (Forgetmenot Gabrielle's Beauty) was shown at an AWC Supported entry in Cleveland Ohio under judge Mr. Anthony J. Gutilla on Dec 11... We were very pleased that our girl went on to win WB for 4 point major!!! Thank you Mr Gutilla!
Salem (Forgetmenot Kurume) was once again reserve to a 4 point major both Friday and Saturday - he is our "reserve to 4 point major" king (his 3rd in a row ;-).
Our little Miss Kiwi (Forgetmenot La Magie Noire) was Best Opposite Sex at the Sweepstake on Friday.

I have 2 Fergus sons here with us (Fergus is Ch. Joska Forgetmenot Idealist). Their dam is a Wolf Tone Viking daughter out of a "Ch. Sunbeam Rembrandt of Endeavour" litter-sister. They are here to mature and see how they will turn out. One of them might be available in a few months.

I guess I can proudly say that I am heading in the right direction! On Saturday, at an AWC Supported entry, breeder-judge Helen Brettell (Lost Creek Whippets) awarded our little 7 months old black beauty "Kiwi" or Forgetmenot La Magie Noire, WB and BOW for her first 4 point major!! This was Kiwi's first show in the USA! This was one win I am particularly proud of.. I also showed our boy Salem and he was awarded Reserve to a 4 point major. Thank you Mrs Brettell for recognizing Kiwi and Salem...

I left the show as I was not entered for the Sunday. On my way home, I get a phone call from Shelley Kruger who owns "Sibelle" (Forgetmenot Kimono) with me.... Well she announced that little Sibelle was now American champion by winning both Best In Sweepstake AND Best In Specialty at the Greater Chicago Whippet Specialty under saluki breeder-judge Linda Scanlon!!! Wow, now my face was stamped with a big smile for many miles... What a day!!!!! Thank you Shelley for believing in Sibelle!!! :-)

Can.Ch.Forgetmenot Katsumi at Joska "Sonora" was shown for the first time today in the US with Grahm Swayze and from the 9-12 months old class won WB, BOW and BOB for 4 points major over 7 specials which some are top whippets in the country and went all the way up to Hound group 4th!!! Apparently it was tough competition!!!!

Spring is here! In one hour we realized that we are surrounded by babies of all kinds! 12 whippets puppies in the house... A mommy cat giving birth in the barn... And a female raccoon protecting her babies inside a old tree!!

Our 12 little Easter Bunnies are born on Easter Sunday!
7 little girls and 5 little boys in this litter out of "Gabby" Ch. Forgetmenot Gabrielle's Beauty and "Austin" Taraly Cannot Forget Me. All 5 boys are black. Only 2 of the girls are black, the rest are dark black brindle. It will certainly be a busy spring for us!!! :-)

We brought 6 dogs to the show and are very pleased to have made to cut with 3 of our puppies. Forgetmenot Kimono (B) and Forgetmenot Kurume (D) (out of Ch.Sportingfield Hot Topic and Ch.Forgetmenot Exquisite) both made the cut in their 6-9 months puppy class. Joska Forgetmenot Idealist (D) also made the cut in his 9-12 months puppy class (by Ch. Tylko Ty Viking's Pride and Ch. Forgetmenot Famously). Our little old lady Juliette (SBIS Ch. Be The One at Forgetmenot) won her class in the 10-12 years Veteran Speepstake. We were very proud of her and she knew it!!!! We had a great time meeting old and new friends but we are also happy to be home to take care of our 12 new little Easter "bunnies". Below some pictures taken at the show. Thank you to Lucie Paradis, DVM for the accupuncture treatments given to Juliette before she went in the ring and to Jodi Allward for beautiful handling of our dogs!

At his first show out (Dec 14th) at the age of 6 months, Fergus wins 3 points (BOW) and move all the way up to a BEST PUPPY IN SHOW in stiff puppy competition!!! Way to go Fergus!! Mom "Adele" is doing fantastic and she is a great caring mom! We are really happy!

Our "Zeke" or Am.Can.Ch. Forgetmenot Guardian Angel is now American champion!! Zeke finished quickly in less than 2 months of showing in the USA with Shelley Kruger (Fanfare whippets). This was done with 2 Supported entry/Specialty Best In Sweeps and 3 majors.

It was 5 short months that went by at an incredible speed... It all started while surfing the internet. As soon as I saw picture of Ketil, it was love at first sight. When I saw his pedigree I knew I needed to have this dog here with me. I was fortunate enough that both his owners entrusted me with him. They are lovely ladies and it was a delight to work with them! It was 5 months filled with lots of action! Ketil came in Canada as a "boy" and he left as a "man"!!! :-) He kept us very busy with shows and breeding scheduling 7 days a week! Everybody was involved in his show career, or wanted to know his latest achievements. Friendship I had before are now even stronger. I could have never done it without Jodi and Kim. They were Ketil's greatest supporters!
But our biggest blessing was to share 5 months of our life with his unique personality. Ketil is the epitome of self-confidence, calmnest and intelligence. It's hard to explain in few words. You have to live with him to understand what I mean. This dog has a strong aura which I have never encountered before... Now we understand why his owners see him as a very special dog!! He will be missed greatly here....

3 great memorable events happened yesterday (June 28, 2008) for myself and Forgetmenot whippets!!!!!

1) Our handsome Polish import "Ketil" finished his Canadian championship in GRAND style by winning Winners Dog at the Canadian Whippet National under sighthound specialist Helen Brettel, Lost Creek Kennel, USA!! Thank you Jodi for an impeccable job handling Ketil!!!

2) Our Finnish export "Marlon", Fin.Ch. Forgetmenot Flying Star (Ch. Plumcreek Come Fly With Me x Ch. Be The One at Forgetmenot) was awarded BOB, Best in Group and BIS #2 under Paula Bochman-Chato ( Baghdad Salukis) Australia!!! Marlon's daughter Play a While Littala was awarded BOB puppy and BIS #3 puppy!!! His other daughter C'mere Icy Crystal was 3rd best bitch!!! We are so proud of Marlon achievement, especially as a sire of note. Pictures below are Marlon (top) and his daughter Littala (bottom).

3) And finally, our "Zeke" Ch. Forgetmenot Guardian Angel (Ch. Plumcreek Hollowell Go Forth x Ch. Willabe Forgetmenot I Matter), was shown at the South-Central specialty where he was awarded Best In Sweepstake (judge name to come) shown and conditionned by Shelley Kruger (Fanfare Whippets). Thank you Shelley!

J litter is born on June 11th! Another large litter of 11 puppies! 6 boys and 5 girls born through c-section! Everybody is very healthy and mom is absolutely amazing. We cannot be more proud! Forgetmenot "I" litter was born yesterday June 2nd! 9 healthy puppies (7 boys and 2 girls) were born out of Luciole (Ch. Forgetmenot Famously) and Ketil (Pol.Ch. Tylko Ty Viking's Pride). We look forward to see how those pups grow as this is a very special litter for us: Luciole being Marlon's sister. Marlon (Fin.Ch. Forgetmenot Flying Star) is our Juliette x Christopher son who resides in Finland and is proving to be an excptional sire for the Scandinavian breeders.

Today we got a great news: our Polish import Ketil (Pol. Ch. Tylko Ty Viking's Pride) won Winners Dog for a 3 point major at the Holland Michigan KC, in Kalamazoo, MI under judge Mrs Carol Spritzer!!!!!
We are extatic! Ketil now has 12 points and getting closer to complete his championship!
Ketil was shown by our dear friend Jodi Allward (Winterbourne Whippets). Thank you Jodi for making Ketil looks so amazing!

On March 14th our Polish import Ketil (Pol. Ch. Tylko Ty Viking's Pride) was awarded Winners Dog, Best of Winners and Best of Opposite Sex under well-respected whippet authority Mr. Bo Bengtson. This show was held in Louisville Kentucky, USA and Ketil defeated 65 whippets to earn 5 point majors!!! We cannot be more proud of this dog. This win confirmed that we took a wise decision when we decided to bring Ketil in Canada to enhance our breeding program! Thank you to his numerous ringside fans for so many positive comments!

Ketil first litter was born this week on March 25th... TEN (6 + 4) healthy and colourful babies are born out of the lovely Pink (Ch. Cariad's Get The Party Started)!!! Most of them are parti-coloured and 3 are irish marked like their daddy. Top picture below are the 6 girls, then underneath are the 4 boys.
